Malibarn is Bangkok’s first eco-florist & herbarium. We are committed to a more sustainable global floral industry and are passionate about protecting our planet by learning about the importance of biodiversity through Thailand’s flora & fauna.
Malibarn first opened its doors in Vientiane, Laos in 2015 as a social enterprise that helped to support rural villagers to increase their income by teaching them to grow cut flowers. Malibarn bought their flowers at a fair rate and sold them onto to customers in the shop.
Opening in March 2023 in Slowcombo, in Samyan, Malibarn sources mostly local and in-season flowers to support local farmers and to reduce the carbon footprint by avoiding air freighted imported blooms. We are conscious to use sustainable materials in our products, by being floral-foam free, and using less packaging and recyclable materials as much as possible.
Our naturalistic design arrangements aim to work with nature and so our designs inherently replicate and reproduce flowers as they are in nature. We have a changing collection of various bouquet types based on colour palettes and hues for all occasions from weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and sympathy. We also hold floral workshops for children and adults from basic flower arranging to pressed flowers and sell a range of floral inspired merchandising.
